Anthony Lawrence -Belfair
32-33 47th Avenue, Long Island City, New York 11101
Craftsmanship accompanies detail and quality. It embraces comfort and assurance. It entails artistic tradition and perfect design. Craftsmanship is one of the defining qualities of Anthony Lawrence-Belfair and all of their products. Stemmed in a tradition of custom, hand built furniture that started over thirty years ago and founded in a family tradition that started many years prior. ALB hasn’t lost this value through time, they have built on it, standing out even in the days of mass production. With every peice of furniture and drapery ALB delivers customer satisfaction with custom craftsmanship.
The philosophy is simple; nothing leaves the shop that is not 100% to form. Every piece starts with the customers design and ends with an inspection by the business owners themselves. Each piece of wood is hand carved, each pillow is hand sewn, and each drape is hand stitched. With a staff of over seventy skilled and crafted workers, each ALB product is built by hand and inspected by hand.

Aviva Stanoff
Designers
2387 La Mirada Dr, Vista, California 92081
Aviva Stanoff founded her eponymous design studio in 2004, and formalized the company as a home décor brand in 2007 as Aviva Stanoff Design. Since then, she has manufactured and sourced home décor creations that embody deliberate luxury. The artisanal point of view that makes her products singular is Aviva’s attention to detail, which flows from her creative spirit. This extends back to include generations of makers with Japanese and Russian roots. “I celebrate that I am a woman business owner and a child of immigrants,” says Aviva. “I feel dutiful to honor these forces that helped shape me by continuing the legacy they began.” Aviva sees every product she designs as a canvas regardless the material forming it, a sentiment that inspired the Brooklyn Museum of Art to include her surfaces designs in their permanent collection.

Cristina Rueda
Corporate Event Planning
345 Park Ave., 26th , New York, New York 10154
I have lived in New York City most of my life and it does not cease to amaze, surprise, shock, and thrill me. Yet this fast-paced, action-packed city life, where new ideas and trends quickly come and quickly go, can often feel overwhelming.
How do we make sense of, and assimilate all the stimuli that come our way? How do we bring beauty and style into our daily lives while living within our means? This is not another site about what’s hot. It’s not about the latest trend you should embrace to look “Hip,” or where you should go to be “In.”
This site is about the beauty that surrounds us in fashion, art and design. It’s about getting off the rapidly moving treadmill that we often find ourselves on and finding joy and beauty in our surroundings; in appreciating and taking care of our possessions; in buying for quality and longevity, and not just for a quick fix and disposability in wisely spending our hard-earned money. I aim to be Style Wise and not Trend Foolish.

Elana Kriegner Inc.
Jewelry Designer
231 West 29 St., Suite 1204, New York, New York 10001
Austrian jeweler Elena Kriegner decided that she wanted to be a “jewelry maker” when she was 6 years old and started to make her first creations. By the time she was 12, her schoolmates and neighbors were buying her beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
She passed the entry exam of a prestigious European Jewelry Design School and started 4 years of training in the craftsmanship of “Goldsmithing.” She graduated as “Goldsmith,” and then added two more years of training and received her degree as “Master Jewelry Maker.”
With her distinct style and her love for technical challenges and versatile ways of changing and moving pieces, Elena knew that she wouldn’t fit into any of the traditional jewelry businesses. She started her own workshop in the Austrian village where she grew up, and created one-of-a-kind signature pieces for a private clientele. To perfect her skills, she traveled to South Africa and worked with a gemstone cutter, to Greece where she taught classes in jewelry design—and she made many trips to New York to integrate her style with fashion.
Elena now lives, works, and finds inspiration in New York City. She creates and designs in her Chelsea studio which she shares with her her sister, an internationally renowned graphic designer.

GRACIE
Handpainted Scenics
979 Third Ave., New York, New York 10022
Gracie was established in New York City in 1898 by Charles R. Gracie and continues to be a family-run business to this day. Mr. Gracie began his business in providing custom lamps, often using unusual accessories and vases and adapting them for use as lamps. His business expanded into Asian antiques in the 20's and 30's, focusing on collecting and dealing in antique Chinese and Japanese furniture, screens and porcelains.
During the 1930's, a friend of Mr. Gracie's, a textile trader, returned from a visit to China with a roll of exquisite hand painted wallpapers that he had discovered in Beijing. Mr. Gracie was immediately enthusiastic, and felt that he had a market for this product. A relationship was established with the studio that produced the wallpaper and continued until the Chinese revolution in 1949, when the studio was relocated to Taiwan under new management. Decades later, the studio was returned to Mainland China, Gracie's studio in the orient have been managed by the same Chinese family for fifty years. Hand painted wallpapers are Gracie's signature product line.
The New York studio consists of a twenty-person production department skilled in painting murals, producing custom lacquer furniture, and providing museum quality restoration. The showroom features all of the lines described above, as well as carefully selected Chinese and Japanese antique furniture and accessories.

G.A. Kuharic, Inc.
Potter / Art Consultant
417 Edgewater Dr., Mishawaka, Indiana 16545
A graduate of the ceramics and sculpture programs at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, I began my work in clay as an apprentice to Alan Patrick at the Bethel Pike Pottery, Albany, Indiana. I continued my training at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Deer Isle, Maine and at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. For over ten years I owned and operated pottery studios in Noblesville and then, Westfield, Indiana, producing functional stoneware and porcelain. In 1987, I decided to take a sabbatical from my studio work and moved to New York City to further my studies and participate in Sotheby's American Arts Course. This led to a position at Sotheby's as Vice President in the 19th and 20th Century Decorative Arts Department. I continued in that capacity for fifteen years, leaving in July 2003.
While at Sotheby's and after a ten-year hiatus from clay, in the summer of 1997, I had the opportunity to resume my studio work in ceramics by once again attending Haystack during my summer vacation. I continued to attend three-week sessions there for the next five years. In 2002, I was able to work once again at the Bethel Pike Pottery. It was during this period that the first significant work from my current series was produced. In 2003 and 2004, Mary Roehm, head of the Ceramics Department at the State University of New York (SUNY), New Paltz, invited me to be artist-in-residence during the summer sessions there. This wonderful opportunity gave me the time and space to focus and advance my work in new directions. The continued exploration of this single theme, has brought with it seemingly unlimited options for variations.

Heller Gallery
Art Gallery
303 Tenth Ave. at 28 St., New York, New York
Since 1973 Heller Gallery has been recognized for playing a seminal role in promoting contemporary sculpture employing glass as its touch stone medium. For more than four decades Heller has exhibited the premier international artists who incorporate glass in their practice and has been a valuable resource for artists, museums, and collectors worldwide.
Numerous artworks have entered prestigious public collections as a direct result of Heller Gallery's exhibitions and advocacy. New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art have acquired works from the gallery as have The Corning Museum of Glass, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and numerous museums abroad, including Victoria & Albert Museum, Musee des Arts Decoratifs de Louvre, and Hokkaido Museum, among others. In the past few years alone the gallery has placed works in a dozen museum collections.
The artists who exhibit at Heller work in a broad range of styles and techniques and explore subject matter equally diverse. Some take on the material itself, testing its limits in monumental sculptures or exploring its fundamental qualities in works that play with the interactions of color, light, transparency and form. Others delve into emotion and myth or comment on art history and do so by casting figurative sculptures, painting on glass, or creating complex large scale installations.
After a sequence of locations in Manhattan neighborhoods as diverse as upper Madison Avenue, Soho and the Meat Packing District, Heller Gallery joins the scores of galleries and arts organizations which have settled in the Chelsea Art District, the epicenter of the contemporary art world in New York City. The gallery is now located at 303 Tenth Avenue near the 28th Street entrance to the acclaimed High Line Park.
Though over the years its address has changed, Heller Gallery remains a unique destination in New York City's vibrant art scene.
