Marilou Mendoza is founder and President of NMARL, Incorporated, a 10-year old travel retail trading company representing and selling global luxury brands to major airlines in Asia. Five years ago, she discovered a global market interested in South Sea pearls. She eventually added them to her company's portfolio and has been trading in South Sea pearls since then.
Pearls are Marilou’s lifelong passion. Currently, Marilou is working on a book on International Trade which she is co-authoring in the United States. The book is due to be published in spring 2013. Once it is complete, she plans to write an additional book about the history of South Sea pearls in Manila through archival photographs and documents, from the 14th century to the present day.
Marilou holds a Design Marketing degree from Parsons School of Design and presently pursuing a degree in International Trade and Marketing from FIT. She is also a Pearl Graduate from the Gemological Institute of America. At present, Marilou is working as a consultant by appointment only, representing luxury pearl jewelry companies from Manila and Hong Kong.
